Vacation Rental Management in Templeton

Permits: Accepting new permits

Regulated by San Luis Obispo County (unincorporated). Templeton is unincorporated, which is the single most useful thing an owner here can know: it is permitted by the County under an Inland Vacation Rental Clearance, not by the City of Paso Robles — so the Paso non-hosted permit cap does not apply to it. You need the clearance, a business licence and a Transient Occupancy Tax certificate. A vacation rental cannot be an accessory dwelling unit, guesthouse or agricultural worker housing, and Williamson Act parcels need their own clearance.

Lodging tax: 10.5%–12.5%

9% county Transient Occupancy Tax plus 1.5% Tourism Marketing District, and a further 2% Tourism Business Improvement District in some areas.

Where we stand in Templeton

Wine country next door to Paso Robles but outside the city cap — on paper the most under-served open market in the county, and the one we would most like to be asked about.
